Cloud and the production network: what IT should know
Desktop applications, the local LicenseServer/Proxy, and cloud services have different roles. Network planning should happen before installation, especially in controlled IT environments.
The official documentation states that LicenseServer mediates between local PrintFactory applications and cloud services. Production computers therefore do not all require direct, unrestricted internet access.

Network preparation
IT should validate DNS, HTTPS, and WebSocket connectivity to vendor domains, local reachability of the Proxy computer, and the required ports between workstations.

Users and permissions
PrintFactory separates account, site, and user levels. With Access Control enabled, permissions are assigned according to responsibility for configuration, profiles, queues, and color.

- Confirm network requirements before installation day.
- LicenseServer/Proxy is the key local-to-cloud connection point.
- Assign access by role rather than giving every user the same rights.
